Meditation for Teens

Monday afternoons 3:30-4:30PM
(October - December, 2014)

This open, supportive group offers contemplative space for young people to discover how meditation practice can help relax within challenging situations, develop focus, and work skillfully with powerful emotions.  Each weekly meeting includes check-in time, guided meditation instruction, and discussion.  Participants are encouraged to develop and implement their own practice strategies in daily life.  Ages 13-18 welcome, from all or no religious backgrounds.  No previous experience required - come exactly as you are. Beginning October 27th.

No previous meditation experience is required, and participants of all spiritual/religious/atheist backgrounds are welcome. This workshop will provide a good introduction to foundations of meditation, and early encouragement to find what works for them & develop it well.

About the facilitator:
Julie Püttgen, MFA, is an artist & educator, a long-time meditator, and a passionate advocate for contemplative creativity.  She has taught meditation through Dartmouth College, Valley Insight Meditation Society, AVA, Hanover High School, and DHMC.
